To help you find the information you need quickly, we’ve answered some of the most common questions we’re asked about our doorsets. From manufacturing and installation to compliance and project support, you’ll find clear, helpful guidance below.
Are all Doorpac doors manufactured in the UK?
Yes, we design and manufacture all our doorsets in the UK. Our products are made to meet relevant UK standards and fire door requirements, while allowing us to provide the technical expertise and the service levels our customers expect.
Is ironmongery included with your doorsets?
Absolutely, at Doorpac we fully recommend supplying integrated doorsets and ironmongery from the same source. We believe that each door should be sold with ironmongery should always be sold together to ensure that all components work together and have the correct fire certification. We provide ironmongery for doorsets from our ironmongery ranges designed for all major construction sectors.
What type of doorsets do you offer?
We offer a wide range of internal doorsets, including fire rated doorsets up to 120 minutes, acoustic doorsets up to 43db rating, PAS24 front entrance doors, and a broad range of finished options for the residential, commercial, education, and health sectors.
Are your doors delivered pre-assembled and ready to install?
Yes, we recommend that door leafs are pre-hung in frames, with as much ironmongery prepared and installed at works as possible. When delivering our doors and doorsets, we ensure that they are packaged and delivered in a way that will help with loading the products out and on-site installation. The doorsets are usually provided palletised in plots or phased clusters to suit, and the deliveries are scheduled to suit the project programme.
How do your doorsets reduce installation time on site?
At Doorpac, we tailor each delivery to the project, ensuring doorsets are properly packaged and delivered at the right time. Our Quick2Fit solution rapidly increases the rate of installation, reducing works on site and project programmes. We aim to make the process as efficient as possible, so please get in touch if you have any special requests.
What is a doorset and how is it different from a standard door?
Typically, the term doorset refers to a door leaf pre-hung on hinges and fitted into a door frame supplied with all necessary components, including all relevant seals and ironmongery, such as locks, handles, closers etc. Doorpac supplies these components together to ensure they all work correctly as a complete system which is especially important for fire doorsets.
How often should fire doors be inspected or replaced?
We recommend that fire doors are inspected every 6 months, or more frequently in high-traffic buildings. During an inspection, the condition of the door, frame, hinges, seals and closing mechanism should be checked, along with relevant fire door certification. The door must close fully, and fire seals must be present and correctly installed. There is no specific timeline for replacing fire doors, but they should be replaced if any part of the door fails inspection or no longer meets the required standards.
What support do you provide throughout the project lifecycle?
We are an experienced internal doorset manufacturer with the technical and contract management expertise to keep your project running smoothly. You will have a single point of contact throughout, working closely with the site team to manage construction changes and produce detailed manufacturing schedules.
